Turn Your Voice Into Action for Children & Families
During Child Abuse Prevention Month’s Week of Action | April 13–17, 2026 we shine a national spotlight on the strategies and everyday actions that expand what's possible for children and families. Prevention is most effective when communities raise their voices for policies and programs that help families thrive.
Jessica Vega, Senior Advocacy and Community Engagement Manager at Rhode Island KIDS COUNTwill teach an introductory workshop designed to build participants’ confidence and skills to effectively engage in advocacy.
Participants will learn how the policy process works, how to craft a clear and compelling message, and how to share their personal stories to influence decision-makers. The session also includes practical tips for delivering testimony and engaging with legislators.
