Trauma-Informed Care & Healing Support

Specialized clinical support for children and families affected by suspected child maltreatment.
The Lawrence A. Aubin, Sr. Child Protection Center at Hasbro Children’s Hospital provides comprehensive, trauma-informed medical evaluations and support for children when abuse or neglect is suspected. Staffed by highly trained medical professionals, the center partners with community providers, child protection agencies, schools, and law enforcement to ensure coordinated care.

The Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC) at Day One provides a multi-disciplinary, child-centered approach to suspected child abuse, including sexual abuse, severe physical abuse, and exposure to violence — reducing trauma and supporting recovery. The CAC is accredited by the National Children’s Alliance, offers statewide services in Kent, Newport, Providence, and Washington Counties, and partners with community, medical, and legal systems for coordinated care.

Help is just a phone call away—for kids, teens, and the people who care for them. Rhode Island’s Mobile Response and Stabilization Services (MRSS) is a 24/7, no-cost crisis response program for children and youth ages 2 to 21. Whether it’s a child in emotional distress, a teen experiencing a mental health crisis, or a family struggling to manage intense behaviors—MRSS sends trained clinicians directly to the home, school, or community within about an hour. We help stabilize the situation, support the family, and connect youth to longer-term care.
