Supporting Youth with Problematic Sexual Behaviors: Understanding the MST-PSB Approach
Presented by Rachelle Franco, MS, LMHC, MST-PSB Clinical Supervisor at NAFI Rhode Island
Many people are familiar with services for victims but may be less aware of community-based supports for youth who display problematic or high-risk sexual behaviors. This session introduces Multisystemic Therapy for Problematic Sexual Behavior (MST-PSB) and explores how clinicians partner with caregivers to address behaviors, strengthen family communication, and develop safety plans that support youth remaining safely at home whenever possible.
Participants will learn about:
Family-centered approaches to supporting youth
Strengthening caregiver engagement and communication
Practical safety planning strategies
Reducing stigma and increasing understanding
Community-based services and supports available to families
Through real-world examples and practical strategies, attendees will gain insight into how strengthening caregiver relationships can improve outcomes for youth and families.
