Supporting Families and Community After Tragedy
If you have been impacted by the recent Brown University tragedy, we want you to know that you are not alone and there are many community resources available to you virtually and in person.
The shooting at Brown University has left our Rhode Island community feeling devastated and in complete disbelief. In the aftermath of experiencing a traumatic event, finding what helps your body feel safe enough in the present moment and seeking support is critical—including community and basic self-care.
We want to extend our deepest gratitude to our state and community partners for your compassionate and immediate response over the weekend—for your collaboration in these unbelievably hard times.
Your efforts to provide immediate support—a triage line, community space, virtual clinicians, and trauma-informed care—will mean the world to the families and students affected.
We stand united with Rhode Island. ❤️🩹
